Maria Mukhortova – Maxim Trankov (RUS)

You skated great, congratulations. It couldn’t be easy to skate, as you skated first in the pairs competition.

Maxim Trankov : Yes, it was difficult. Difficult, because we skated first and it was our first Europeans too. It is hard to skate in so high level and we were nervous. But we practiced hard and this program wasn’t too bad.

What do you except from the competition?

Maxim Trankov : I don’t know. We just like skating, and that’s the most important.

Aliona Savchenko – Robin Szolkowy (GER)

How did you like your short program?

Robin Szolkowy : It was fun to skate, but it didn’t go as we had expected. There were a few wobbles and errors. We would have preferred to be in first place with a good skate.

Your luggage with your skates arrived late, only on Sunday. Did it cause problems for the planned practises?

Aliona Savchenko: You prepare well for a competition and then you have no skates. There is nothing you can do about it! Thank God they finally came.

Yuko Kawaguchi – Alexander Smirnov (RUS)

What do you think of your short program?

Yuko Kawaguchi : We skated not too bad, but we weren’t confident enough. We got what we deserved. But overall, it wasn’t that bad.

What did you except from the competition?

Yuko Kawaguchi: We wanted to skate clean programs, without mistakes. Today we didn’t do it, but we didn’t get any deduction, I think – I don’t know yet.

Laura Maggiteri – Ondrej Hotarek (ITA)

What did you expect from the competition before the short program?

Ondrej Hotarek: What did we expect? To not skate badly, but we skated – not too bad. But we have one more day, I think it could happen.

Laura Maggiteri: We will skate tomorrow and we will see.

Ondrej Hotarek: We will enjoy it tomorrow. We just think about tomorrow. There are couples who are injured, so we will see. We will skate again together and we will have fun.

Laura Maggiteri : Yes, sure!

Good Luck!
